Elementary Science PK-5
Twenty-nine supplemental investigations for grades PK-5, each built on the Syzygy design process and adapted for young students. Every lab is a real investigation: a question students can test, evidence they collect themselves, and a conclusion they have to defend.

Elementary Science PK-5 is a series of 29 supplemental investigations for grades PK-5. Together, the labs cover all 45 K-5 science performance expectations, with each lab containing a cluster of expectations that share a single phenomenon. The labs sit beside a core program and give a class a real investigation to run: a question students can test, evidence they collect themselves, and a conclusion they have to defend.
Each lab follows the Syzygy design process, modified for young students. Choice is constrained to a small menu. Manipulatives carry the work. Cycles run shorter than the high school labs, and memory is held in physical artifacts the class builds and keeps.
Every Syzygy lab is built with the Syzygy Cluster Design Process. The process starts from the science itself: one phenomenon is chosen first, the standards that share that phenomenon are clustered around it, and the investigation is built so students gather the evidence the cluster calls for. Assessment is designed alongside the investigation and scored by dimension, so a teacher can see where a student is growing: in the science practice, in the core idea, or in the crosscutting concept. The free framework overview explains the process step by step, from choosing a phenomenon to building the assessment that closes the lab.
